12. Red, wHite and roYal blue

Really good. Though I think Texas voting Democrat is a bigger fantasy than the first son hooking up with a prince of England…

9. Winter’s Orbit

Kind of a boring slow burn romance but the sub-plot and world was fun to spend some time in.

Nice dramatisation of the rivalry between Raphael and Michelangelo during the Sistine Chapel years. The over arching plot was whatever but the historical event tableaus were fun.

2-4.Paranormal house fLippErs

Really not great books but paranormal house flipper is one of my dream jobs so I suffered through. Should have just stuck to the renovations though, the rest of the story was dumb. They kept finding all these world ending magical talismans and books but had no time to research them as there was important bathroom tiling and wainscoting work to be done!

1. Screwdrivered

Needed something quick and easy to get back into it. Chill romantic comedy I’ve read before.

39. The Reality Dysfunction

I read this awhile back and decided to save the rest for a future date. Re-read it now to prepare. Still holds up. Great epic space opera.

37. Urban forests

A nice history of the American forestry movement, Arbor Day and city parks. The parts about the chestnut blight and the Asian long horn beetle were pretty shocking. The forests looked so different 100 years ago.

36. Digital minimalism

I really enjoyed this one. Usually books dealing with our relationships with technology do a good job on taking about how bad social media is, but don’t give a lot of useful advice beyond ‘turn off alerts’ or something shallow like that. This one had a lot of good advice for how to deal with the psychological and social ramifications. Will def use some of these tactics and probably read this again.

34. The City of Brass

Unfortunately a trilogy. I still enjoyed it though, maybe a bit long, but great setting and some interesting drama. Hard to follow the mythology at times.
